I know most of the time when you hear someone said secret recipe, the first idea that flashed into your mind are ‘cakes’. However, why do you think of cakes when you hear Secret Recipe? This is because “secret recipe” is a household brand name in Malaysia that founded by Datuk Steven Sim a decade ago.

A brief introduction of Secret Recipe


Secret Recipe Cakes & Cafe was founded in 1997. It is a popular and the largest lifestyle cafe chain in Malaysia. Besides, Secret Recipe offers many types of foods for customers to make choices. The foods included more than 20 types of fusion foods, 40 types of cake creation and pastries, more than 30 types of beverages and flavorful range of ice cream. Moreover, Secret Recipe also has become one of the fastest growing lifestyle cakes and cafe chain because it has successfully expended and establishes their business to overseas. Until today, Secret Recipe has over 280 outlets included franchise which located in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Philippines, Brunei, Australia, Cambodia and India.

The purpose of this business research: 


  • To identify the types of Secret Recipe’s customers.
  • To identify customer’s satisfaction of Secret Recipe. 
By go through this research we can know that, how well does secret recipe perform their business and nowadays become a leading and largest cafe chain in Malaysia. 

In order to gain the result of research (types of Secret Recipe’s customers and customer’s satisfaction toward Secret Recipe), I was selected Secret Recipe outlet which located in  Festival City Mall, Selangor to conduct my research. 
After some consideration, i was chosen 2 types of methods to do the research, which included questionnaire and observation .



Secret Recipe was located in ground floor G64, betweeb the Kitchen Shop and Buddy Smoothies & I Love Yoo shop.
